The radiofluorination was performed in the commercially available system TRACERlab MX (GEMS, Uppsala, Sweden) including basic hydrolysis. — The radiochemical yield of the transformation of Talose triflate into FDGal by the present method was hence limited to 3.8±1.2% (decay corrected; 42 productions).

The synthesis could also be performed in the FDG Microlab (GEMS, Uppsala, Sweden) with acidic hydrolysis. — Experimental variations in reaction temperature (60–85°C), duration (2–10 min), phase transfer catalyst (Kryptofix 2.2.2./K2CO3, tetrabutylammoiumhydrogen carbonate), hydrolysis conditions (1 M HCl, 20 min, 100°C or 2 M NaOH, 2 min, room temperature), or synthesizer (TRACERlab MX or FDG Microlab) did not affect the radiochemical yield.

How this set was arrived at. base set per Ph. Eur. general monograph 0125 (rule); weak UV chromophore (sugar/simple ion/short-chain acid) -> conductometric detection (rule); organic-phase radiosynthesis assumed from isotope/compound class, no synthesis data confirming it -> GC residual solvents (preliminary); conventional nucleophilic 18F-fluorination assumed from isotope/compound class, no synthesis data confirming K222 use -> Kryptofix test (preliminary)
