This page says what you may do with the data and what in the index is not ours. The licence below covers our compilation only. The materials it draws on keep their own terms.

Licence of the index

Our compilation is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). That means the selection, structure and wording of the index, and the values we extracted and checked. You may copy, share and build on it, including for commercial use, as long as you credit the source.

What the licence does not cover

The licence is for our compilation, not for the source materials. Each of the following stays under the terms of its owner. Crediting us does not give you any right to them.

Pharmacopoeial monographs

The texts of pharmacopoeial monographs are protected by copyright: the European Pharmacopoeia by the EDQM (Council of Europe), USP–NF by the United States Pharmacopeial Convention. They are not reproduced on this site. Only monograph numbers, titles and editions are cited. To read a monograph, use the publisher's edition.

Structure images

Structure images come from PubChem (National Center for Biotechnology Information, U.S. National Library of Medicine). Each structure shows its PubChem compound number (CID) with a link to the record. The image shows the unlabelled parent compound, and its caption says so.

Bibliographic data

Bibliographic records come from PubMed (U.S. National Library of Medicine): PMID, title, journal, year, DOI. Abstracts and full texts belong to their authors and publishers. The index quotes a short sentence as the evidence for each value and links to the paper. It does not reproduce articles.

Regulatory facts

Approval status and registration numbers come from public registers: FDA (Drugs@FDA, openFDA), the European Medicines Agency and Health Canada. These are facts taken from a register entry, and each links to that entry.

Typefaces, icons, names and marks

The typefaces are IBM Plex Sans and IBM Plex Mono, © IBM Corp., under the SIL Open Font Licence 1.1, and are served from this site. The service icons are from Tabler Icons, under the MIT licence. Product, brand and company names belong to their owners. They appear here only to identify what a source describes.
